Terms of service

NoteMCP is a notes app with the Model Context Protocol built in, operated by Wael Mansour and reachable at hello@notemcp.com. Using it means you accept what is written here. If you don't, don't use it — and if something below is unclear, ask before you sign up rather than after.

Your account

You need an account, and you are responsible for what happens under it: keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has them. One account is for one person. You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live.

Your notes are yours

You keep every right you had in what you write, save, photograph and record. You give us only the permission the service needs to run — storing your notes, indexing them so search works, transcribing what you record, generating link previews, backing everything up, and handing it to the AI assistants you yourself connect. Nothing here lets us publish your notes, sell them, or train a model on them.

Notes are stored as plain Markdown and you can copy them out at any time, on any plan. Paying is for the service we run, never for access to your own writing.

Connected AI assistants

NoteMCP exists to let assistants you choose — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, your own agent — read and write your notes over MCP. Each one gets access only after you approve it on the consent screen or issue it a personal access token, its access reaches your notes and no one else's, and you can revoke it from your Account page at any time.

Once a note reaches an assistant, that copy is in that company's hands and under their terms and privacy policy, not ours. Choose what you connect accordingly. You are responsible for what the agents you connect do with the access you gave them.

Acceptable use

Don't use NoteMCP to:

• store or distribute anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to hold;
• store sexual content involving minors, or content that incites violence against people;
• break into, overload, or probe the service or its infrastructure — including scraping, circumventing plan limits, or hammering the MCP endpoint;
• resell the service, or run it as a shared backend for other people's accounts;
• impersonate someone else, or upload another person's private information without their say-so.

We don't read your notes looking for violations, and there's no automated scanning of your content. But if a credible report reaches us, we can look at what it points to and act on it.

Plans, billing and cancellation

The free plan stays free, with no limit on how many notes you save. What it limits is how many of them a connected assistant can read: the first 400. Everything past that is still saved, still synced, still searchable inside NoteMCP, and still yours to export — your AI simply cannot see it. Plus removes that limit, and raises the storage and voice transcription allowances; its price is shown on the pricing section before you buy, and the founding price holds for as long as a founding member stays subscribed.

Payments are handled by Creem as merchant of record. Creem is the seller for the transaction, takes the payment, issues your receipt and handles any tax — its buyer terms govern the payment itself, while this agreement governs your use of NoteMCP. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.

You can cancel whenever you like. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Plus until the period you've paid for runs out; after that the account drops to the free plan and your notes stay — still there to read, search and copy out. Photos and voice recordings are kept for 90 days past that point, and we email you twice before anything goes. For a refund request, email hello@notemcp.com and we'll answer within three business days.

Prices can change, but never mid-period: a change takes effect at your next renewal and we tell you before it does.

Availability

NoteMCP is run by one person on a handful of infrastructure providers. It goes down sometimes, features change, and the semantic half of search can be temporarily unavailable while keyword search keeps working. There is no uptime guarantee, and the service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind.

Keep your own copy of anything you can't afford to lose, and note that this is a promise about access rather than a download button: any assistant you connect can page through every note with list_recent_notes, read each one in full with get_note, and fetch attached photos with get_note_asset. Reading is on every plan, the free one included. If you would rather not do it that way, email hello@notemcp.com and we will send you a copy of everything we hold.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for data you did not keep a copy of. Where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to what you paid for NoteMCP in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law — and nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time; email us and we will erase it and everything in it. We can suspend or close an account that breaks the acceptable use rules above, or that we're legally required to act on — and where the situation allows it, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to export.

If NoteMCP were ever to shut down, you'd get notice and a window to export your notes before anything is deleted.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version appears at this address with a new effective date, and a material change is emailed to you before it takes effect. Continuing to use NoteMCP after that is how you accept it.
